Configure immediate plan sign-ups

Updated this week

Users can subscribe to membership plans and pay independently, saving the administrator's time and efforts and driving revenue.

Configure immediate plan sign-ups

  1. Create or edit a plan

  2. Select "Immediate" as the sign-up "Type" for the plans that do not require administrator verification and allow immediate independent sign-up by users.

Who can sign up for a plan

All users who don't have a subscription yet can sign up for a plan:

  • Nonmembers can see the prominent Sign up button on the main page of the member web portal and mobile app. By clicking it next to their desired location, they can view all available plans.

On desktop, the Sign up button remains visible under the location name, even after navigating to other pages.

  • Members who don't have any active subscription can sign up by going to the Locations > Membership > Billing > pressing Subscribe in the "Subscription" section, or by following the link to the plan.

Please note that as an administrator already associated with the location, you cannot see the Sign up button. However, all your new customers who are not yet members and do not have a subscription see it.

How user signs up for a plan

When a user selects the desired plan and clicks Subscribe:

  1. They are prompted to log in and guided through a welcoming onboarding process in the app.

  2. Choose the subscription "Start" date.

  3. Enable or disable "Renewal":

    • If enabled, their subscription will renew automatically.

    • If disabled, the subscription will end after one plan cycle is over (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc.).

  4. Choose "Quantity" (e.g., 3 dedicated desk memberships for a team).

  5. The user's name is prefilled based on the information they entered during onboarding.

  6. Enable or disable the "I'm purchasing as a business" option.

    • Users who sign up as individual members are instantly approved upon successful payment and appear in Customers > Users.

    • For users who choose "I'm purchasing as a business", the following happens:

      • Users appear in Customers > Users as a member.

      • A company with the specified name is created on the Customers > Companies.

      • The member is assigned as a "Manager" of the company.

  7. They can add their billing details, which will automatically appear on all invoices and receipts issued to them.

  8. Enter a promo code for a discount, if applicable. The eligible discount and the reduced price are displayed immediately.

  9. Enter their payment method details and proceed with the payment.

How sign-up works

  1. When users sign up on their own, they pay for their first subscription cycle right away, even if the subscription start date is set for a future date.

  2. Only after this, the system invites them to the Community, and a subscription is created.

  3. Location administrators receive an admin notification each time someone signs up for a plan.

  4. Once the subscription starts, the customer gets all the plan benefits, including credits, Kisi or SALTO KS access to unlock doors, Wi-Fi, and more.

Our recommendations

  1. Copy the plan public link to share a direct sign-up link on your marketing website and social media.

  2. Incentivize new sign-ups by offering one-time or temporary discounts on membership plans through sharing promo codes with targeted users. The discount will apply to the member's subscription invoices based on the coupon's "Duration type" setting.

  3. Once new users sign up, welcome them and introduce them to your community with our onboarding tips.
