By integrating with the Avigilon Alta (formerly Openpath) access control solution, Spacebring automates granting physical access to your premises for customers based on their bookings and subscriptions.
Avigilon is a distinct company not affiliated with us. For any inquiries regarding Avigilon's solutions, services, or pricing, please reach out to Avigilon directly. We do not have the authority to provide information or support on behalf of Avigilon.
Prerequisites
To enable the Avigilon Alta integration with Spacebring, make sure you meet these requirements:
Have an active Spacebring subscription with an Essential or higher plan.
Have access to the Avigilon Alta administrator account.
Have your Avigilon Alta account set up:
Create zones, connect entries to them, and add zones to access groups.
It's recommended to create access groups exclusively for Spacebring. Reusing existing access groups you have previously configured for other applications may result in errors.
Connect the Avigilon Alta integration
In Spacebering, go to the Integrations page by pressing the menu (...) next to the location's name.
Find the Avigilon Alta integration page.
Press
Connect
> enter your email and password for the Avigilon Alta account.Select your Avigilon Alta organization.
Manage the "Mobile credentials" switch.
Enabled (Recommended) — Spacebring will automatically create a mobile credential for each user when syncing them to Avigilon Alta for the first time. This sends users an email to install the Avigilon Alta app and ensures users can unlock the doors without manual intervention.
Disabled — Mobile credentials will not be created automatically. Administrators will need to manually assign a credential to each user directly in the Avigilon Alta dashboard after their first sync.
You can connect a separate Avigilon Alta account to each location in Spacebring.
Configure the Avigilon Alta integration
The integration between Avigilon Alta and Spacebring allows for automated access control based on the following conditions:
Subscription
Room booking
Desk booking
Office booking
Equipment booking
Parking booking
Access based on subscriptions
To automate access for customers with subscriptions:
Navigate to Billing > Plans.
Create or edit a plan and select the desired Avigilon Alta group in the "Access" section.
Create a subscription manually or let users sign up for plans by themselves.
Edits to plans don't affect existing members' subscriptions. To grant access to your existing members, edit their subscriptions directly and choose the Avigilon Alta groups in them. Adding or editing access takes effect immediately.
Access based on bookings
To automate access for customers based on bookings:
Navigate to Resources > Rooms, Desks, Offices, Parking, or Equipment page.
Add or edit a resource and select the desired Avigilon Alta group in the "Access" section.
Access is granted only for future bookings. If you add or edit an access group for a resource after a booking has already started, the new access will not be granted for that specific booking.
How Avigilon Alta integration works
User synchronization to Avigilon Alta
Users who qualify for access—based on either a subscription or a booking—are automatically synced to your Avigilon Alta dashboard with the following details:
Full name
Email
Additionally, if the "Mobile credentials" switch is enabled, mobile credentials are created for users during their first synchronization from Spacebring to Avigilon Alta. At this time, users receive an email invitation to install the Avigilon Alta Open app and set up their account. They must use the same email address they use in your member web portal or mobile app.
For subsequent bookings or subscriptions, users will not receive an email from Avigilon Alta—they’re granted access automatically and can unlock doors via the Avigilon Alta app.
Access based on subscriptions
When a user obtains a subscription—whether by self-sign-up or admin allocation—they are automatically synced to a specific access group selected in their plan.
Synchronization occurs on the subscription's start date, and access remains active as long as the subscription is active.
When a subscription is created for a company, all users within that company are synced to Avigilon Alta and granted access.
When the customer's subscription is canceled or expires, access for all associated users is automatically revoked.
A subscription remains active from its start date until its end or cancellation date, regardless of the payment status of the customer's invoices. To revoke access from the customer, schedule a subscription end, or cancel it.
Access based on bookings
Users who make a booking are synced to the access group designated in the room/desk/office settings for the duration of their booking, with a 30-minute grace period before and after the booking time.
Additionally, any invitees to the room booking also receive access.
Booking date & time | Access to the predetermined access group |
1/8/2024 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM | 1/8/2024 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM |
5/12/2024 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM | 5/12/2024 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM |
