Spacebring allows great flexibility when setting booking pricing. For example, you can set a flat price regardless of booking duration or set up variable pricing depending on booking duration. You can set one or multiple money and credit price tiers for each of your resources.
In this article, we'll explain how pricing works, how to create price tiers, and how to accommodate different use cases for your booking pricing.
Understand price tiers
Booking duration refers to the total amount of time, measured in hours, for which a resource is booked. The booking duration is determined by a booker at the point of booking. You can influence it with min. and max. time properties of your resources.
Price tier is a specific pricing level that a booking falls into based on its duration. You can determine the price tiers for each resource.
Example Price Tier | Example Booking Durations |
Less than 4 hr | 0.5 hr, 1 hr, 3 hr, 3.5 hr |
From 4 hr | 4 hr, 7 hr, 11 hr |
From 12 hr | 12 hr, 16 hr |
From 24 hr | 24 hr |
Unit price and flat price are properties of a price tier. They are configured independently and are unrelated.
Type | Definition | Example(s) |
Unit Price | The cost to book the resource for a specific duration, measured per hour. | If the unit price is $10 per hour and the booking duration is 6 hours, the total cost would be 6 hours × $10 = $60. |
Flat Price | The fixed price for using the resource, regardless of the booking duration within a price tier. | If the flat price is $100 for any booking lasting 6 hours or more, then the price for all such bookings will always be $100, regardless of the actual number of hours booked |
How the booking price is calculated
The total price for a booking that falls within the specific tier is determined based on the unit price and the flat price.
Only the unit price is non-zero: the total price is calculated by multiplying the booking duration by the unit price.
Only the flat price is non-zero: the total price is always fixed, regardless of the booking duration within the specified tier.
Both unit and flat prices are non-zero: the total price is calculated by multiplying the booking duration by the unit price and then adding up the flat price.
Add price tier
You can add price tiers when adding or editing your resources.
Price tiers are available for rooms, desks, and parking lots.
To add a price tier, do the following:
Navigate to the Locations > Settings page > choose a page where you want to add price tier for your resources (Rooms, Desks, or Parking).
Start adding or editing the resource.
Press "Add Tier."
In the "From" value, select the starting booking duration for the price tier.
If you don’t see the desired value here, it means you have already created such a price tier.
5. Specify prices. If the unit price doesn't apply, leave it as "0." If the flat price doesn't apply, leave it as "0."
By default, new resources have a single price tier with a unit price, which can be edited anytime.
Price tiers must have at least one non-zero price defined.
6. Tap "Save" and confirm the change to the resource by pressing the "Save" button at the top again.
Edit price tier

Adjust the necessary values.
Tap "Save" and confirm the change to the resource by pressing the "Save" button at the top again.
The "From" value shows the predefined hours to choose based on the earlier created tiers.

Tap the "Save" button at the top to apply the changes.
The first tier cannot be removed but can always be edited if needed.
View price tiers
When editing the resource, administrators can view all price tiers in the "Payment" section.
All users can view price tiers by going to the Locations > Rooms, Desks, or Parking pages and pressing the ⓘ Information icon next to the resource.
When users visit the Rooms, Desks, and Parking pages to view all available resources, the first price tier is displayed by default. To view additional pricing options for a specific resource, users must open its details page or begin the booking process.
How to use price tiers
You can explore various pricing tier scenarios and offer your customers flexible pricing. The goal of having multiple price tiers is to provide flexibility in pricing to attract a diverse range of customers and maximize your revenue.
Use cases
Scenarios | Goal | Setup |
Flexible hourly rates | Offer a lower hourly rate on longer bookings |
|
Daily rate | Offer a discounted rate for full-day bookings.
|
|
Half-day rate | Offer a discounted rate for half-day bookings. |
