Use coupons and promo codes for resources

How administrators redeem coupons

Administrators can apply coupons for rooms, desks or equipment at the checkout when making a booking for themselves or any user.

To apply the coupon, administrators select the necessary one in the "Coupon" section. Once selected, the discounted price to pay is displayed.

How users redeem promo codes

Users receive promo codes from administrators and can use them at the checkout in the member web portal and mobile app.

To apply the promo code, users enter it in the "Promo code" section when making a booking or purchase. Once entered, the discounted price to pay is displayed.

Track coupon and promo code usage on resources

How administrators track coupon and promo code usage

To track coupon and promo code usage, administrators follow these steps:

  1. Go to Spacebring > Billing > Discounts page > open a specific coupon or promo code.

  2. Check the number and list of all redemptions in the "Redemptions" section. It reflects the following details:

    • Customer name

    • The resource on which the coupon or promo code was applied

    • The redemption date

Alternatively, administrators can export a "Transactions" report to track the analytics of all coupon and promo code usage. The report provides information on the coupon, promo code, and discount applications across all transactions in your app.

How users view their discounts

Users can see their discount in the following ways:

  • Immediately at the checkout under the "Promo code" section:

Notes

  • If administrators or members for whom the administrator is making a booking have a discount in their subscription, the administrator can decide whether to apply a coupon at checkout. If a coupon is selected, only the discount from the coupon will be applied to the payment price, regardless of whether it is higher or lower than the subscription discount.

  • If users have both a promo code and a discount in their subscription, they can decide whether to apply the promo code at checkout. If entered, only the discount from the promo code will be applied to the payment, regardless of whether it is higher or lower than the subscription discount.

FAQ

Why is the user seeing the "Promo code is not valid" error?

This error typically appears for one of the following reasons:

  • The code might have been entered with a typo or extra spaces. Please double-check it.

  • If the promo code is set to be "Limited by first purchase", the user may have already made a purchase of this resource or service type in this location previously and is now not eligible for it. You can verify the user's previous purchases in their profile under Customers.

  • The promo code might be valid for a different type of service than what the user is trying to purchase. For example, the user cannot apply the promo code for Desks when signing up for a plan. Check the promo code and its associated coupon on the Billing > Discounts page to confirm its eligible service type.

  • If the promo code is set to "Apply to specific items", the specific item the user is trying to purchase might not be among the selected ones. Review the "Applicable items" section for the relevant coupon on the Billing > Discounts page.

  • The promo code's expiration date has passed. Check this on the Billing > Discounts page.

  • The promo code or its associated coupon has reached maximum redemptions. Verify the maximum redemption number on the Billing > Discounts page.

  • The promo code may have been archived by an administrator, or its associated coupon deleted. Check its status on the Billing > Discounts page.
