Adding a privacy policy to your app helps provide transparency about how you treat users' data. Whether or not your business is physically located in the EU, the GDPR requires you to have a privacy policy if you process data of EU citizens.

What should privacy policy include

Your privacy policy must include:

  • Disclosing the types of personal and sensitive user data the app accesses, collects, uses, and shares; and any parties with which any personal or sensitive user data is shared. Spacebring will collect your users' personal information and is, therefore, a data processor. We advise you to disclose Spacebring as your data processor with the following information:

  • Secure data handling procedures for personal and sensitive user data.

  • Spacebring’s data retention and deletion policy, available in our privacy policy.

For example, company members and administrators can use personally identifiable information (full name, email) to invite other users to the app. During the first login, the app users may add personal information. Such information may be discoverable by other app users. Therefore, your privacy policy must require all app users to legally obtain any personally identifiable information and have permission to share it in the app.

Create privacy policy

Use any of the following resources to help you:

  1. Avodocs to generate your privacy policy.

  2. AI resources such as Chat GPT or Bing.

  3. Use a sample we suggest and include your app name there.

You must consult your legal representative for advice on what is required to make your Privacy Policy legitimate.

Manage privacy policy

  1. Log in to Spacebring as an owner.

  2. On the left-side panel, click (...) next to your network name > Network Settings > General page.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on "Privacy Policy."

  4. Paste the new text of your privacy policy or edit the existing text, and press Save to save your changes. The changes apply immediately.

Where privacy policy appears

Your privacy policy appears in the following places:

  1. The Privacy Policy page during the new user onboarding in the app. Users must accept your privacy policy, and we save the date of consent.

  2. The Account page of member web portal and member mobile app.

  3. Your Google Play Store app listing.

  4. Your Apple App Store app listing.

How new users accept your privacy policy

New users have an onboarding process when accessing the app for the first time. One of the onboarding flow steps is to accept your privacy policy which they can also open right from the onboarding window and review. By pressing "Continue", they confirm that they have carefully read and agree to the policy and terms.

Once users get acquainted with your terms and privacy, and agree to them, they follow the next steps of the onboarding process and start using the app.
