Manage terms of use
Updated over 4 months ago

To regulate the activity of your users, you are required to add Terms of Use (EULA) to your app. Adding Terms of Use helps set boundaries and provide transparency about how users interact with your apps. The provision of terms of use is a prerequisite for publishing your apps to Apple and Google app stores.

What should terms of use include

Terms of Use should:

  • Describe who is allowed to use your apps.

  • Describe how users can use your apps.

  • Define objectionable content (pornography, terrorism, violence, hate speech, drugs, fake news).

  • Clearly state that users cannot share objectionable content on Feed and other app parts.

  • Outline how to alert administrators about violations. You can recommend users go to the Support page and report an issue.

  • Include any other rules and regulations relevant to your business.

You can use a service like Avodocs to create your terms and should consult your legal representative to advise you of what is required.

Create terms of use

Use any of the following resources to help you:

  1. Avodocs to generate the text.

  2. AI resources such as Chat GPT or Bing.

  3. Use a sample we suggest and include your app name there.

You'll need to consult your legal representative for advice on what is required to make your Terms of Use legitimate.

Manage terms of use

  1. Log in as an owner and navigate to (...) More > Network Settings > General.

  2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on "Terms of Use."

  3. Paste the new text of your terms of use or edit the existing text, and press Save to save your changes. The changes apply immediately.

Where terms of use appear

Your terms appear in the following places:

  • The Terms of Use page during the new user onboarding. Users must accept your terms of use, and we save the date of consent.

  • The Account page of your app.

  • Your Google Play Store app listing.

  • Your Apple App Store app listing.

How new users accept your terms of use

New users have an onboarding process when accessing your app for the first time. One of the onboarding flow steps is to accept your Terms of Use which they can also open right from the onboarding window and review. By pressing "Continue", they confirm that they have carefully read and agree to the Terms of Use.

Once users get acquainted with your Terms of Use and agree to them, they follow the next steps of the onboarding process and start using your app.
