Ensuring your custom domain is correctly set up is essential for your member web portal to function smoothly.

Issue Detected

If you received an automated email about an issue with your custom domain, it means Spacebring detected a problem with your member web portal URL. There can be a few reasons why this happened and troubleshooting steps we recommend.

Key causes

The possible causes behind the issue with the custom domain:

1. A temporary issue on the side of your domain provider

The email is triggered when an issue is detected either with your CNAME record for the member web portal's custom domain or with your domain itself. The issue may have been temporary, possibly related to the DNS settings.

Additionally, the domain may work without interruptions in your country but experienced temporary unavailability in other regions due to DNS resolution.

To troubleshoot, try accessing the member web portal under a custom domain to check if the app is functioning without interruptions.

2. Technical issues with your domain provider

The website where your domain was purchased had a technical issue, due to which your domain didn't work.

3. Wrong settings of the CNAME record for your custom domain.

A record you created in your domain's DNS panel, stopped working due to the wrong record settings in the DNS panel.

Visit the domain registrar, go to the DNS panel, and check if the right CNAME record is created.

Since it happens on the side of your domain registrar, both domain-provider technical issues and the wrong CNAME record have to be clarified by them.

4. Your custom domain isn’t or is incorrectly added to the “Custom Domain” field in Spacebring

A record you created in your domain's DNS panel wasn’t added to the Network Settings page in Spacebring.

Your “Custom Domain” section must always have the right third-party custom domain added.

An owner visits the Network Settings > General page, and checks if the right third-party custom domain is added there.

If it was removed by mistake, the member web portal won’t work under the custom domain URL.

Find more instructions to configure your custom domain by following our Manage a custom third-level domain for your member web portal guide.

Issue Resolved

Once the issue with your custom domain is resolved, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email from Spacebring. You can verify this by opening your member web portal under the custom domain to ensure it's working properly.
